She found her thrill when she was three years old. A screw driver and a tennis racket. The tennis racket, a guitar and the screwdriver, her microphone. Kim Krenik knew then exactly what she wanted to do for the rest of her life.
At 13 years old, Kim was invited by a friend from school to her church youth group. Her friend (Heather) coaxed her to go to the church with a little bait - cute boys. After a couple of months the Book of Revelation which was being taught by a gifted and wise youth leader began to come to life in Kim's mind. With this newfound knowledge, new life was also being birthed within her heart. At a Winter Youth camp in 8th Grade, Kim decided to follow Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. That was also the year she wrote her first song.
Since those early days, Kim has continued singing and writing songs. She has continued to follow Christ, at times down paths she never imagined He would wish to take her. Overall it has been a joyous, if at times challenging journey.
One of the most difficult seasons of waiting Kim has walked through was during the years she was unable to have children. Kim and Rob were married for six years before they were able to conceive. They planted a church in Tracy, California in September 2001, one week after September 11th. They began meeting on Sunday evenings for the first few months. On Easter Sunday 2002, the first Sunday the church plant would meet at a school for a morning service, Kim took a pregnancy test that came back positive. They named their little miracle child Nathaniel which means "Given by God" - and he most definitely was. Since then, the blessings have continued to rain down upon the couple. They have four beautiful little blessings today. Nathaniel - 7; Keira -5; Lucas -3 and Bethany - 5 months. Kim believes her role as Mom to these precious gifts is the most important calling in her life.
Kim has recorded four projects of her original music and has had two other artists cut her song, "The Lion". Her rendition of the Hillsongs' "Jesus, Lover of My Soul" (a duet recorded with Ted Leonard of the Progressive Rock Band, Enchant) and her songs, "The Lion" "Call Me Crazy" and "The Promise" have had international radio recognition and airtime. She is currently working on two projects. One of these will feature Kim joined by her own kids.
Kim's passion is for pointing those who are hungry for heaven on earth to the Only One who truly satisfies. She is available for booking at churches, retreats and other venues.
Kim is the wife of Senior Pastor Rob Krenik. They minister together at Calvary Chapel of Tracy, California where Kim serves as one of their worship leaders. She also facilitates a SongWriter's Circle to the Tracy Community and surrounding areas, and works part-time as a Vocal Coach.
